Medium/easy difficulty route also suitable for those who do not pedal daily.
The low mileage makes it simple but there are some hill climbs not to be underestimated. The scarce presence of car traffic, except in the vicinity of larger towns, allows you to cycle in complete tranquility, among the vineyards and cellars of Aglianico DOC, olive groves and mills, interesting archaeological sites and medieval historic centers. The tour is based on Venosa, an ancient city founded by the Romans in the third century BC. It was located on the Via Appia and was an important center which, among other things, was the birthplace of the Latin poet Quinto Orazio Flacco. In addition to the Archaeological Park, a visit to the Holy Trinity should not be missed, an early Christian Basilica with frescoes inside and a sarcophagus with the remains of the Altavilla. Outside there is the Incompiuta, a larger church never completed.
