Calvello is a hilltop town located on the edge of the Parco Nazionale dell’Appennino Lucano Val d’Agri-Lagonegrese and is well known for being a fairy tale town in winter. Located on the mountain, the town gets covered with snow in the coldest months making it a pretty place to visit, while its unique winter delicacies include mushrooms, truffles and wild berries. It is also known for its artistic ceramics – a classic design of a bird with a sparrow’s body and the tail of a peacock.
