Carbone, a small village at 690 meters above sea level, has a building characterised by small stone buildings, in line with the original layout. In the lower part of the village there is the former Convent of San Francesco, while the ruins of the Basilian Monastery of Ss. Elia and Anastasio, from the 9th century, are still visible. A few kilometres from the village is the Vaccarizzo wood with an area of 200 hectares of beeches, maples, firs and some examples of Neapolitan alder.
