North east of Lauria, on the edge of the Parco Nazionale dell’Appennino Lucano Val d’Agri, the beautiful town of San Chirico Raparo perches on a hilltop overlooking the river below and has a breathtaking view of the mountains around it. Near to the town is a stream which appears and disappears depending on the time of year due to the nature of the ground it runs over, as well as two sulphur springs. Don’t miss the Abbey of Sant’Angelo and its cave which contains stalactites and stalagmites.
