Defined as a “land of fairy tales”, Rapone stands out for the perfect architectural coexistence between old and new. The remains of settlements dating back to the Paleolithic and the buildings in the historic centre that trace the contours of the feudal system, enriched by unusual decorative masks, find a natural continuity in the present with more modern buildings. Protagonists of the cultural heritage are the noble palaces, such as Palazzo Nicolais and Casa Patrissi, the Chiesa Madre of San Nicola Vescovo and the two churches dedicated to Santa Maria ad Nives and Santa Maria dei Santi. The interesting local food and wine tradition features two particular products: soppressata and caciocavallo, to which two festivals are dedicated.
